Of the many different  Psittacidae  (true parrots)  genera , six are classified as macaws:  Ara ,  Anodorhynchus ,  Cyanopsitta ,  Primolius ,  Orthopsittaca , and  Diopsittaca . Previously, the members of the genus  Primolius  were placed in  Propyrrhura , but the former is correct in accordance with  ICZN  rules.
